This doesn't help teachers - it hurts schools and children. Forcing districts to pay teachers $80 more per month helps no one. #stopLying

You probably don't know that a bill was passed to raise our premiums. Mine increase to $1089- 1/3 my paycheck. Something should be done!
-
We're aware, but if the mandate is unfunded, the burden won't get any better.
-
Dottie - premiums are up due to tx lege cutting funding. GOP is intentionally starving public schools and educators.
-
Also, the $1K raise is only for current teachers and districts decide who is a "teacher." Excludes paras, librarians, & retirees.
-
Part of special sessions will address retiree's healthcare premiums. I'm all for lower this.
-
That's if they get to it. Adding it doesn't mean they will deal with it. Call your reps and tell them to support you. Follow

Teachers are important.
-
Children more so
-
Our educators work very hard and care about our kids. Schools need help to benefit our kids. It's about the kids and their future.
-
So true! It seems like people tend to forget.

Thank you. I'm hoping this special session brings about actual change and that this proves to be more than just a line on a document.

Your raise for teachers comes at the expense of the school budget. Not helping!

Do something really good for teachers and schools and stop pushing the hateful bathroom bill. No one wants that bill.

Get rid of the Teachers Unions before they indoctrinate and destroy children's minds
-
@mariabonnano9 is a bot. Actual Texans know there are no teachers' unions here--only 'professional organizations.'
-
Aaaaand... they have nothing to do with the curriculum.

It is great as long as valuable change occurs. We've endured good intentions without true action for too many years.
