        Houston and Austin are 2 cities, not 3.Texas has always been an oil state. Big blue Houston has benefited from the oil biz for generations.

        + Dallas, SA...So has Beaumont and Port Arthur which are in decline since the 50s, but Houston diversified its economy. Times are changing.

        NJ passed a 2% cap on assessed value increases per year. CA has the same limit. Why can't Texas?

        CA has a 13% state income tax and NJ has a high state income tax. We need to go to a straight consumption tax.

        I like the consumption tax but it will take years to get there. We need immediate help now. #SB2 and a local spending cap is our best hope.
