The City of Austin is dedicating more than $20,000 PER HOMELESS PERSON in Austin. The problem isn't resources. It's prioritization. It's inaction & word salad on an urgent public health & safety issue. Haven For Hope in San Antonio works. Lawlessness is never the answer.

We would spend a lot more if they were in prison or an asylum (which we don’t have). Again, you have no desire to say what we should DO with homeless people in the most expensive housing markets in Texas. Which drives homelessness.

Endorsing life on the streets is inhumane and unethical. If you think it’s OK to allow people to live in squalor you‘re on the wrong side of history. Sometimes jail is the blessing someone needs to detox off of drugs. Normalizing this behavior is not the answer. #ThinkAboutIt
