Venezuela doesn't work because it is a dictatorship with one major industry. Democratic socialist countries with diversified economies work quite well around the world.

The only work they do is taking money they didn’t earn and giving it to people that didn’t earn it, while taking a healthy cut for themselves.

You'll go down in history as the Governor who thought about anything but his actual job: the Venezuelan economy, the 3 or 4 people every decade who commit voter fraud, Russian Jade Helm conspiracy theories...

No one tell Abbot that the police and firefighters are socialist institutions or he will get rid of them.

There’s a huge difference between a socialist country and a capitalist country with socialist programs. You’re veering off into stupidity, bud.

The socialists in Venezuela have, as Margaret Thatcher said, “run out of other people’s money.”

Socialism doesn’t work. Punitive consequences like this is exactly why I fight to protect the capitalism Texas is known for. “Venezuela’s annual inflation rate will surge to 1.37 million percent by the end of the year” txlege

So Canada and Sweden are just figments of my imagination?
-
Sweden isn’t socialist although operates as a welfare state. And Canada is a democracy with gov administered healthcare. There isn’t Socialism in either country—which is a figment of most people imaginations— https://twitter.com/williamelewis46/status/1050032049250361344?s=21 …

What does Venezuela have to do with the US? What is your point???
-
His point is there’s a political party who seeks to establish a socialist society here and the results are predictable.
-
Who seeks a socialist society? The communist party?
-
Democratic socialists in particular and the Democratic Party in general
-
So you fear that the Democrats want a Venezuelan government style in Texas. You know that is patently false and preposterous. Not worth commenting on.
-
And yet you commented? And you didn’t refute that Democrats are trending toward socialism? The truth is, Venezuela wasn’t ruined in a day.
