Not to distract from this heroic and brave action that you had nothing to do with and are appropriating for political purposes, but what do you intend to do about the fact that our state ranks #43 in education?

Another reminder to have better gun control laws.
-
It’s already illegal to shoot at people. Maybe you should go tell the guy shooting at the cop about it? I’m sure he wouldn’t have done it if he’d known about the law.
-
Looks like he had damn good gun control

It's too bad some officials play politics with their safety by doing things like refusing to supply them with body armor.
-
I'm all for issued body armor. But, what body armor protects one's arms? Probably not the best story to make your argument.

The trooper should have stayed behind his car door for protection. Clearly, the suspect had an advantage. It's a good thing the trooper was able to get in a good shot.
-
The Trooper that took the round to the arm did not hit the suspect. It was the Trooper with the (AR-15) rifle that you saw run to the suspect immediately following the shooting. You are right, the Trooper should have remained behind cover, especially after warnings from the air.
-
I wondered about that also. He had absolutely no cover. Why would he do that—maybe he worried suspect would shoot a civilian if not disarmed immediately.
-
By beating the suspect on the draw, he was betting the suspect would back down peacefully. In this case, it was a bad assumption! Many officers involved in such scenarios haven't received specific training or it's been awhile since such training. Glad the Trooper will be okay.
-
That was some bet.

I think something like that happened about a month ago also north of alpine or marathon. Someone ran the BP checkpoint DPS took over and ended pretty similar. These are troubling times we are living. Glad the trooper made it.

Don’t agree with everything on your feed, but your right about this, sir. Those troopers are some brave badasses doing a tough job. May God bless them and thank God he will be able to continue the good fight.
