3) It deemphasized attribution. I am not sure this is a good rule for science (familiar product), but no attribution should be an option. 4) Focused on content. The failed Wikipedias build great platforms and expected people to automatically start using it. 3/3

These rules may also apply to collaborative efforts from the

http://niemanlab.org/2011/10/the-contribution-conundrum-why-did-wikipedia-succeed-while-other-encyclopedias-failed/ … Before Wikipedia was created there were seven similar attempts. Why did Wikipedia win? 1 Wikipedia modelled a familiar product (encyclopedia). 2 Low barriers to contribution. 3 It deemphasized attribution. 4 Focused on content, not on technology. 1/n

We launched a new group to promote the translation of the scientific literature. In my own post I write about how I changed from thinking English is just a basic science skill like statistics to starting this group due to my work as climatologist. https://variable-variability.blogspot.com/2021/05/launched-new-group-translations-scientific-literature.html …https://twitter.com/OpenScienceR/status/1390292801016025094 …

My thought is that this is an ill-conceived project and its been reported that it has co-opted people's reputation by listing them in roles they don't have with the organization so my feedback is you should probably shut it down now.https://twitter.com/curatescience/status/1371927285998231561 …

#OpenResearchFuture Moin Syed@syeducation predicts the Impact Factor will go away in the next 5 years. I am sceptical. Universities are forced into using them via university rankings (which I would not mind being illegal).Näytä tämä ketjuKiitos. Käytämme tätä aikajanasi parantamiseen. KumoaKumoa
