We're going to be collaborating with a hardware vendor to get a device produced with comparable security and support for alternative operating systems as Pixels.
We can't publish details right now but we're optimistic about it and hope to have real news about it in a few months.

The plan is for it to run the open source GrapheneOS. It will be a pretty standard Qualcomm SoC device. Our initial goal is having a device other than a Pixel with comparable security and alternate OS support. Can also potentially have green boot state for GrapheneOS.

This is great news and a big undertaking.
It would be great to have a HSM or secure enclave to store #bitcoin keys, so that if the phone is in airplane mode, it's basically a hardware wallet.

It'll definitely have at least one proper secure element and proper integration of one is part of what we expect from any supported hardware. Android keystore API could have support for secp256k1 and Schnorr added to it and then apps could use added secure element support for it.

CalyxOS has created most of the inaccurate talking points they use. CalyxOS has engaged in an extreme level of spreading misinformation about GrapheneOS and libel about our developers. They collaborated with a YouTube influencer who created most of this bullying and harassment...

I think devices are quite secure. Do you think GrapheneOS can be compatible with Librem 5? Excited about this!

misrepresents their devices in their marketing as more secure and as open source when that isn't the case. Their hardware and firmware is still proprietary. The components in their phone are less secure and they don't integrate them securely. Their focus is on marketing.
