You're incorrectly assuming that the project is unaware of how the baseline application sandbox and permission model work. I'd suggest familiarizing yourself with the current baseline (AOSP 10), how GrapheneOS changes it, what still needs to be added back and what's planned.

GPS works fine. GPS is slow to lock on. There isn't a supplementary coarse location service to provide quick, inaccurate location before the GPS lock on. If apps don't work you need to bring that up with app developers since it's almost always an issue with their apps not the OS.

What happens on the lower system level with hardware and drivers with Google phone? (in the proprietary shadows of it) I really feel sick when I see Google logo anywhere.

It's not possible to replace the bootloader splash screen since the bootloader (https://source.codeaurora.org/quic/la/abl/tianocore/edk2/ …) is verified from the root of trust. This applies to pretty much any secure device, not just phones. Same thing as complaining about a Dell logo when booting up an XPS laptop.

https://grapheneos.org/donate It's listed in the navigation bar at the top. If you're on mobile you need to scroll the navigation bar to the right. Unfortunately, mobile browsers don't show a scroll bar as a hint that something can be scrolled but rather hide it until scrolling.
