This is a continuation of the original project as a permissively licensed open source project as it was originally, with continued work on compelling privacy and security features. By the way, it was originally fully free and open source under permissive licenses. It won't be associated with a company in the same way and won't be trying to change the licenses to prop up a company's business model. The project is going to be made sustainable in other ways.

It's going to be funded by multiple companies and organizations, allowing it to retain independence and distance from any specific company. The hope is that people using the code for profit will support the project but there won't be any attempt to enforce that via the copyright.
