After 12 years, I'm used to it, but I'm sorry for everyone out there who has recently lost their mom and is getting texts like, "Show Mom how much you care when you buy her a new iPhone!"
I was executor for my brother’s estate. After finally getting cell phone company to accept an early account closure, I was inundated with calls and emails offering to reactivate his account “with unlimited free roaming”.

While not quite the same, after my mother passed away, I (executor) received numerous letters daily from people offering to buy her house to flip it. "Dear Mr. lightning, We are sorry for your loss ... and we will buy the house AS IS. You won't even have to clean it!"

I bought a stamper that said “Addressee deceased. Return to sender” and stamped every freaking piece of mail and put it back in the mailbox. It was cathartic.
