One important consideration: Refusal to obey air crew instructions is a federal felony. Even if not charged, can get you de-planed.

I would risk it, I swear. I can’t imagine sitting by and letting the dog die. And I’m not a pet-lover (because I’m super allergic).

The family deferred to an authority figure out of fear, and in trust she knew what she was doing. Bad decision, but understandable.
