5/ Grumpy turns down a $150 buyout, after trying to counteroffer at $100. Floor tells Grumpy he has to put $300 in the pot or he’ll be banned from the Mirage poker room and likely all MGM properties. If you’re in Grumpy’s shoes, do you pay the $300?

6/6 Grumpy refused to pay, cashed out, and got to meet a couple of Mirage security officers as he left the poker room. Mirage poker room manager handled the whole situation calmly and professionally. Just a really weird and awkward situation.

Happy did NOT get his $$. Grumpy cashed out, then chatted with security. Apparently casino cannot force player to pay off the bet. Interesting implications for a higher stakes game.

It’s like a casino-by-casino “one time”.
