I know these prop bets are always so fascinating to people, but the voice in my head that says "we probably shouldn't be celebrating behavior like this." This is what this guy is voluntarily doing to himself: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/what-does-solitary-confinement-do-to-your-mind/ …

They are adults, they can totally do what they want. I just personally want to draw attention to the fact his family is worried about him, that this could have mental health side effects, and that I find nothing about it cool or crazy or brave bc I am a stick in the mud.

I agree with you. I'm amazed that the trend in responses learning about this are either 1) he's going to do damage and/or 2) he should have taken odds.

That second response is what unnerves me. It feels SO predatory when all these guys want their best bet and aren't thinking about whether or not he could really hurt himself.

This reminds me of the prop bet where a guy ran ~70 miles on a treadmill in 24 hours. Nobody seemed concerned if he got hurt or died.

That was the first time I felt like I was crazy because people were writing how "brave" he was and i was like. "you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." To me it was a cry for help.

Oh man I forgot Doug Polk was the other guy seemingly indifferent about whether or not his friend was in physical danger!
