Do you have any idea what the refugee situation would be like in a conflict even on the scale of the Dirty War? Have any notion of how many people would be without food, water, and power in even a small conflict? Do you think there would be definitive control *within* the cities?
Can you pay the remaining police force? Are militias helping with city security? Which ones are armed? Do the armed groups tolerate each other? How are the flows of millions of people trying to leave the country being managed? Even if its like dirty war is there a draft? Shut up!

I say this all the time. People don’t understand anything from logistical resupply to comprehending that they will murder their neighbors and leave them in the street.
Yeah, people want to picture some sort of conventional or near-conventional war like Syria or Yugoslavia, but any sort of armed conflict in the US would be an "internal conflict" more like Mexico or Peru or Colombia.
