    Sometimes I finish writing a state chart and think "dang ... why is this so big? My code w/o the state machine was a lot smaller." So then I compare it to my old code and see I failed to handle the majority of cases there 😂

    The funny thing about Suspense is it’s a tool in a different category than existing ones. It’s not a data fetching library (like Apollo or Axios) and not even a stream or state composition solution (like Rx or XState). It treats *UI loading states* as first-class. A new niche.

    All information is “new” the first time you hear it. When you come across an idea and think, “Isn’t that obvious?”... it just means you learned it earlier in life. The curse of knowledge is that you underestimate how powerful “obvious” ideas can be to anyone for whom it is new.

    The combination of and Cypress has made testing such a wonderful experience. 😍 Look at this test. It reads so clearly. No cryptic DOM queries. No brittle implementation details. My tests look for the text and labels that the users use. 🔥

    $ ./long-running-script.sh && notify-send "Done!" Handy way to get a desktop notification to know when a command is done. Avoids need for constantly checking back in the terminal
