‘Make no mistake: despite mission statement rhetoric neither organisations nor individuals can empower (or transform). We can only create conditions where individuals empower (or transform) themselves, ideally in community with others.’ Great piece here by

The ardent animal rights-supporting child in me loves this. I once received a letter from the Queen’s lady in waiting thanking me for the letter I wrote to her Majesty saying I thought fox hunting should be banned 🦊

I’d like to open this call. If you’ve experienced anti-Semitism, subtle or overt. Please just post it here. Let’s air it. If you are nervous to post it yourself, DM me, and I’ll repost it. Clearly anonymous. Let’s make a statement.

This was probably not what I should have spent the last couple hours on but here’s a visual representation of the world for Jewish refugees after the Evian conference in 1938. Because saying “32 countries” doesn’t really convey the scope of the refusal.

I saw last week. She's in her final year at Goldsmiths and applying for Masters courses. It's only 8 years since she arrived in the UK, a traumatised 14 year old refugee from Afghanistan with basic English. What a remarkable person and poet.

What can fifth graders handle talking about? What are they interested in talking about? Check out these lists from our first round of brainstorming topics for our inquiry circle work. These kids are ready to tackle the issues that matter because they matter to them.

The brilliance of is that there was no twist. Just the numbing, inevitability of a coercive, abusive relationship. Brave storytelling and an amazing performance by David Tennant. Not a Drama to forget in a hurry

Many people are hurt today. Though man-made, passports and border-controlled identities are a huge part of who we are, and have far-reaching implications. You're allowed to feel how you feel, deeply. May I just plead with you, for the sake of your wellbeing, to hold onto hope 🙏🏽
