"More Americans died from drug overdose in a 12-month period than at any other point in history.” We need new approaches, safe consumption sites, and real treatment to stop this tragic surge of overdoses during the pandemic.https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/whats-behind-the-historic-spike-in-drug-overdose-deaths-under-covid-19 …

"Safe consumption sites"... Yeah, turn SF to be even more of a vile cesspool of drugs and crime. You've destroyed this city enough in less than one year! Please just GO!!!!pic.twitter.com/SnY2bIBmlU

I guess we could double the prison population in this country by locking up more people for nonviolent crimes. How’s that boot 🥾 taste?

How about forced treatment for all those human beings who are dying on the streets from nonviolent crimes?! Not everything has to be about prisons, you know... We need to help them heal & be productive to society, not encourage their deadly behavior with consumption sites! 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Forced treatment is not a effective response to addiction for the same reasons as incarceration. "I now explain why using force against people who wish to use intoxicants inevitably harms them, harms the general public, and harms the legal system. Yeah, because seeing people rotting and dying on the streets is much much more humane and better alternative for those poor weak souls. The radical liberal mind at its best...pic.twitter.com/cD4uRNmQrG

I think we should cure them, but sometimes they need to be ready. We should make safe intoxicants available, and trust our scientists that they offer effective paths away from addictions.https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25563446/

You are naive! Most of them are not in the right mind to ever be ready! They need forced compassion & treatment. There's enough money to create programs that'll keep them safe in home-like environment where they get mental help, healthy meal and warm bed for as long as they need!
