VERY disappointed that a common sense law to prevent future gun violence supported by Rs & Ds, police chiefs and sheriffs, can’t get to the Senate floor. #HB1436 #coleg

#HB1436 focused on mental health and due process. A “NO” vote sends a clear message to Coloradans that special interests are more valuable than the lives of our law enforcement officers and citizens. #coleg

To you, gun confiscation w/o due process is common sense and also why you should never hold office again. #copolitics

The bill calls for requiring a judge to sign off first. You’re being obtuse.

And they can do so without having heard from the accused. Due process this is not. A higher bar than one person’s statement is needed to remove a person of a Constitutionally protected right. #copolitics

Glad this garbage legislation failed. It would’ve placed law enforcement Officers lives, (NOT Chiefs, Sheriffs, or Governors), at risk taking guns away from law abiding citizens that had malicious false ERPO’s filed against them. @SheriffSpurlock #HB1436 # college #Ireadthebill

Calling it “common sense” doesn’t make it so. Open ended gun confiscation is still a violation of the #2ndA. #DontBlameTheTool

This bill left far too many open ends. You know it! Change the level off proof, change the ex parte reporting, change the return/restoration of rights to immediatly and it would have stood a chance.
