    On this day in 2018 I took executive action to establish the Pennsylvania Commission on LGBTQ Affairs — the first of its kind in the nation. The commission has helped state government better connect, protect, and serve our LGBTQIA+ communities.

    Great news and something we've prioritized here in Pennsylvania too. Harmful emissions from cars can pollute the air we breathe and our environment, so any forward movement on EV use is beneficial for everyone.

    We have to leverage a whole-of-government effort to lift up workers and strengthen American leadership in the clean cars of the future. To set that all-out effort into motion, I’m signing an executive order with a target of electrifying 50% of all vehicles sold by 2030.

    The landmark Voting Rights Act was signed 56 years ago, banning laws to suppress voters of color. As states create new voting barriers, it's critical that Congress reinforce voter protections and pass the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
