What's the difference in people gathering at sporting events versus kids attending school? I don't get it.

At sporting events you are “cross-breeding” multiple schools and adults and others together. At school it’s the same group of people every day. If one school has a case then it may transfer to another school on the other side of the state. And schooling is much more important.
