Doing things the right way is just as important as doing the right things. Hiding the pension changes in a 291pg. wastewater bill, thus keeping it from being reviewed and going through due process, is not doing things the right way regardless if it’s the right thing to do. #SB151
Tonight 49 members of the Kentucky House and 22 members of the Kentucky Senate voted not to keep kicking the pension problem down the road Anyone who will receive a retirement check in the years ahead owes a deep debt of gratitude to these 71 men & women who did the right thing

They ALL stole money from pensions. You don't fix a system by destroying it, and every state employee pays taxes too. I would rather my dollar guarantee a pension than be income for an investment manager while failing to secure anyone's retirement.

No one is destroying it. That comes from your union talking points. We have someone trying to stop the bleeding created by all of your democrats that stole from the pension which is 40 Billion under funded by your prior governors!!

Dismantling it for future employees is the definition of destroying it. Republicans have had control of the legislature in years that funneled money from pensions elsewhere. This was bipartisan theft, initially; but it's only Republicans who want to make it permanent.

The elimination of pensions for all future employees to the detriment of the taxpayers and the economy is way more than an "adjustment." That's a fact of the actuarial analysis, not a talking point.
