Will people in jails and prisons have access to Naloxone? I heard of one case where the person who saved the life of their cell mate was in trouble for having Naloxone.

We are decriminalizing the possession of syringes.
We know safe access to syringes is hugely beneficial for public health. You shouldn’t risk going to jail for having one.
I'm mandating Medication Based Assistance in all New York State jails and prisons.
This will make sure those currently and formerly incarcerated have access to the medicine they need to beat their addiction.
We are establishing an online directory for distributors of opioid antagonists – such as Naloxone – making them more accessible for New Yorkers who may want to access these life-saving medications.
