A HUGE barrier to many disabled New Yorkers is the poverty-level wages paid to their homecare workers. Most disabled New Yorkers depend on these workers in order to be a part of the workforce themselves.

If you care so much about our employment how come our services are still on Medicaid and not considered legitimate chronic health needs? We are forced to stay poor and single to keep our SSI and “services”. We need our support SEPARATE FROM MEDICAID. Or we will NEVER be equal.
