To help slow the spread of the #DeltaVariant and reopen our economy safely, I'm announcing a series of universal mask measures.

These universal mask requirements apply to anyone medically able to tolerate wearing a mask, regardless of vaccination status.

With Delta on the rise, requiring masks is a key part of slowing the spread, reopening our economy safely, and protecting vulnerable New Yorkers. This new mask requirement ensures that children in our child care facilities receive the same protection as children in our schools.

This is extremely disappointing and unnecessary. TWO YEAR OLDS are not the ones contributing to spread of this virus. Masking impedes development at this age. This is not "protecting" us, this is a harmful policy that hurts our most vulnerable. Increase age to 5!

Nowhere else in the world are masks recommended for children 2+.

That’s my point. I think masks can help slowing the spread, but having children under 5 in masks in a 10-hour day at day care seems to be unpractical.

I would love my 25 month old to wear a mask at daycare, but the reality is, he won't keep it on. I would prefer the staff focus on teaching & child care than mask enforcement at this age, even though I understand & believe in the benefits of masking. 2 yo are impossible.

I love NYC. Please let us normal rational people know when sanity is regained and it’s safe to visit again.

I worry that day will not return.
