Close to $400M in rental assistance has been paid out—nearly double the amount in the past 
weeks
This will enable tenants at risk for eviction to stay in their homes and helping struggling landlords to recoup unpaid rent.
Starting September 15, $125M in new state funding through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program will be designated for middle-income renters previously ineligible. Renters interested in applying for either federal or state assistance should visit http://otda.ny.gov/erap
And we're continuing to provide critical assistance to excluded workers:
Over $1.05B in Excluded Workers Program Funds has been approved for distribution to date
$550M will have been released by the end of the week
And additional $500M is undergoing final verification
While we are ramping up those efforts, our work still isn’t done. We will continue to provide financial relief and assistance to New Yorkers who need it.
What about the 800,000 New Yorkers who lost federal unemployment?
We still need financial assistance with respect to the unemployment benefits. There are millions of NYers that need financial assistance for their day to day living expenses. Reinstate the unemployment benefits!
@GovKathyHochul Landlords filing on behalf of tenants are baffled as to why tenants are being EXTREMELY uncooperative. Please re-educate the ERAP phone operators as to the new legislation. The small Landlords with 4-6 units are suffering tremendously from biased tenants!
