On #LaborDay, I'm proud to sign four pieces of legislation that protect and benefit working NYers.
All workers deserve a fair wage, safe working conditions and good benefits.
These new laws advance NY's proud legacy as the birthplace of the labor movement.
This legislation will:
Make highway workers safer in work zones
Make contractors jointly liable for wages owed to workers employed by a subcontractor
Require payment of prevailing wage to building service employees at luxury co-ops & condos
Extend Shared Work Benefits

A inclusion of #telecommuting for NYS employees at a meaningful level would have been a great addition. Failed at that right off the rip.
Ma’am unemployment. The deadly pandemic. The excelsior pass. All workers deserve a fair wage but you need 2 to 3 jobs to even get an apartment in the city. People are being thrown out their homes and dying on the streets.
So many family’s are now facing financial hardship because this governor refuses to extend unemployment benefits to so many New Yorkers it’s time to make your voices heard march to the capital building in Albany and the governors office in NYC this pandemic is still raging
We must be forceful to demand change and obviously this governor do not have the interest of all New Yorkers at heart it’s time to stand up and be heard so let’s unify our voices and become one
How about stop the mandates on healthcare workers? I’m blaming you when people die of Covid and other ailments because we have no staff!
