The Mayor of Yauco, Ángel Luis Torres, showed me a house now reduced to rubble. The future looks bleak for this once prosperous street. Residents are living in tents, waiting for the $35K check from FEMA to rebuild. Except that won’t come close to rebuilding costs.pic.twitter.com/nj4M38N1vA
With over 3,000 earthquakes & aftershocks, people are afraid to sleep in their damaged homes. Horribly sad to see babies & children living in tents with stressed out parents who don’t know when they can leave. Reinforces why it's important to show up.pic.twitter.com/owCpMFODJE
Briefed the local press to let people of #PuertoRico know that New York has your back. You can count on us to assist in recovery efforts.pic.twitter.com/F3xvz24MpP
