I first became acquainted with Harriet Tubman as an 8-year-old. I went to the local library and checked out a book series called “The Childhood of Famous Americans.” When I saw this book at
@BuffaloHistory earlier this year, it brought back childhood memories.pic.twitter.com/OPUB1CsuVP

I treasured that book. I knew every page and the story of Harriet Tubman’s life as a pioneer for both women & the American people. BTW - did you know she was the first woman to lead an armed expedition during the Civil War!?pic.twitter.com/NPTDOwk7Xc

I've been to Harriet Tubman's house in
@_cityofauburn countless times - I even met one of her descendants. It's down the road from the Equal Rights Heritage Center, and I highly recommend visiting to learn more about Harriet Tubman's fight for justice and freedom.pic.twitter.com/Vum8lOOOO5
