told students at @TownHallNYC the story of Harriet Tubman, my favorite book as a child.
Harriet Tubman escaped slavery but couldn’t leave others behind. Risking her life, she established the Underground Railroad helping free 300+ slaves.pic.twitter.com/TPt7cgfKxz

Tubman didn't establish the UGRR. It was in place before she came along. She was the best known Conductor however. 13 trips back to MD where she was born have been documented along with approximately 70 enslaved people brought to freedom in the north, mostly family and friends.
