@NBA changes handful of on-the-court or player conduct rules each season and they're expected to adjust and adhere. Why wouldn't other professions be held to same standard? A phrase like "Cotton Pickin" clearly has 1 origin & shouldn't be on the tip of anyone's tongue in 2018 -
My mom and grandparents all picked cotton as did all of my aunts and uncles. I’ve heard and used this phrase my whole life and it has NEVER had a racist connotation.

Yeah but the apology is still warranted. For our society to progress we have eliminate “old fashion” colloquialisms like this. I knew he meant no harm, and I’m glad he recognizes his error. It’s all good.
