This video shows clearly what any NYC cyclist knew to be true as soon as this story broke: the driver attempted to overtake Hanegby when he should have slowed down and followed him. It's repugnant to point at Hanegby's normal and lawful behavior as the cause of his death.

The NYPD hates cyclists, doesn't answer our cries for help, and blames our deaths on us. Just do your jobs, NYPD.

Oh my!

Someone took a strong run at me last week and then used his door as a weapon to hit me when we both got to the red light. It's vehicular assault. Took
@NYPD84Pct 30 mins to respond (and by that, I mean a car just drove by and I flagged them) and they didn't even take a report.

TERRIBLE, BUT HE WAS LOOKING AT THE BLONDE. DID HE EVEN NOTICE THE BUS?
-
Notice the bus and do what? He was biking in a perfectly safe manner. It's the driver of the bus who chose to overtake him at high speed where there was insufficient space. The driver's wrongful action caused his death, not his own normal behavior.

The bicyclist can take the lane. The bus should have slowed down to let him proceed first. The scumfuckery brigade will defend this asshole thanks to
