You pay for service. When I felt bad about fare evasion we still had booths. No booth; less guilt, late train; later arrival, not much left to care about. Excepting my city. It’s a class thing. When the working class has to uber you’re going to miss the working class.
Ridership has decreased because the trains are a nightmare. If the trains could get you to work in less than 2 hours, then maybe you'd not take an Uber. But this is the @MTA's game -- blame someone else for the problems that they caused.
perhaps the platforms packed with sweaty, angry, late commuters has something to do with it.
