Omg I love you guys. Thank you, everyone for your well wishes. I do not want a go fund me or anything like that. I was asked not to make a fuss but It’s good to know I’m not alone with my feelings about this.

I have to confess- this post was prompted by a phone call I eavesdropped on between my dad and my aunt.
Idk what the exact circumstances are and I’m not seeking donations or anything like that. Thanks EVERYONE who’s offered.
My heart will bust from all the amazing love!Show this thread

Have your aunt talk to the hospital's social worker. I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss.

-
Shell be ok. He died in a hospice and they’ve been wonderful. Bless those people... kind souls who help people dying. They are truly unsung heroes.
-
I’m very sorry for your loss and yes, hospice workers are total rock stars.

So sorry for your loss. Can we start a letter/phone campaign to your aunt’s rep to put pressure on them?
-
No. She asked me not to make a fuss. They’re not poor. It’s the principle.
-
Except it’s not only about your family, and not only about the money. There aren’t a lot of families who have the luxury of saying “We‘re not poor, don’t make a fuss.” But it’s also the principle: Donald needs to get that these mob tactics (threats, hostage taking) aren’t ok.
-
I totally agree with you. I just don’t thing overhearing a phone conversation gives me the right to unleash the press on my aunt and her family while they’re grieving.
-
You/we (collectively) wouldn’t even need to identify your aunt: letters could/should be written that outline these “case scenarios” without identifying individuals.
-
Yeah. True that. I’m with you. More gov emoyees need to speak up. I haven’t seen many. Most are afraid of being fired I’m sure.
-
Not allowed to. Mandatory 30 day suspension for using the words "impeachment" or "resistance."
-
This has nothing to do with either. We’re talking about contacting our Reps with stories of hardships due to the shutdown in an effort to convince them to work with the House to pass a bill to open back up even if Trump vetoes it.

Hugs and thoughts from New Zealand

Thank you I’ll show my aunt all these when I see her.
-
Hi Janie! How are things?? Did yoy get the benefits by now?
-
Me? I don’t receive benefits. I’m the niece. It’s been one day and the gov is still closed.

Very sorry to hear about your Uncle. It was a year ago February when my 53 year old thin, fit, Uncle died of a heart attack. Had been able to afford his hernia surgery and the time off work as a single dad, the EKG would have found the blockage. He left 2 kids ages 10&7.
-
I am from Canada. I just noticed your post. Can I ask why your uncle did not get an EKG? Getting an EKG here in Canada, is almost easier than getting a cup of coffee. I read that line, and was like, "WHAT?!"- Very sorry he passed. Condolences to you and your family. Xx
-
Do what? He was diagnosed last summer. They gave him chemo... the chemo basically scattered the cancer to his liver and brain and killed him.
-
95% of all cancer related deaths are due to chemotherapy killing the body’s immune system. Radiation also weakens immune systems. Cancers can be cured without these things, but the medical industry won’t allow it because it’s for-profit. Healthcare in the USA sucks.
-
That is something I recently came to learn here in Canada. A pals father had cancer, he was having chemo, but they also said there was some medications he could try, BUT they were so expensive he could not at all afford them. Now whether they might have helped a bit? BUT ALOT OF $
