The unofficial Equifax line is it is "up to" 44m people, but they don't yet know how much was accessed.

Equifax had data on basically everybody and every business, they're a credit agency.

My local council
@IslingtonBC paid Equifax for data on me to check if I was living alone and really eligible for council tax discount. -
I know because they sent a stern letter demanding I explain why someone with my name was living with me according to Equifax
