My experience with many ICS/HMI/etc vendors is... they aren't hot on security. They say they are, but they often were super bad.

The guys doing the implementation would ask for things like "ports 1-65535" to be opened, AV be disabled for C:\ etc.

Presumably the WAN interface exposes VNC and SSH for ease of management yes?

haha, most good with OpenVPN tunnels back to their offices, problem is if their engineers get compromised you own XYZ customer companies.
