For the record overall I think they've done a really good job security wise with D2, from what I've seen so far.
The matchmaking stuff probably needs changing though, it looks like it's not fully dedicated - ie there's peer to peer.
This is not terribly surprising to me. A great many shooter games rely on peer to peer to offset server load and attempt to minimize latency
What it ACTUALLY does is make them a playground for skids with booters. It's almost like time traveling back to my early online gaming days
Activision & dedicated servers will never happen. It would eat into the massive profits that they love to funnel off to Holland.
A lot of PC games that have inbuilt voip did the same, an example was the Division/R6. They weren't bothered when I tried to contact them
I'm told The Division patched it out in the end due to DDoS attacks. Haven't checked though.
