Yup. I think it's utterly human to have parts of the psyche split off from each other - we all work on this integration, but it's lifelong.
For the record I don't think being a human, being a feminist and making mistakes are mutually exclusive.

I agree. Some psychic splits are more egregious than others & do more harm to loved ones, etc, like this one; others are just sorta pains.

I don't see his actions as anti-feminist as much as horrendously selfish & even narcissistic. Just as bad if the wronged party were male.

I do think he meant his idealism & purpose. & that none of the effect was intentional; hence the self-loathing. Of course not an excuse.

I do. I think his understanding of feminism was splintered & he couldn't recognize - or at least deal w/ - how his actions targeted women.

In this case I have sadness & worry, but forgiveness is up to the wronged person/family & healing is up to him. Neither looks likely atm :(
