I'm honestly surprised that anyone whitelists it or even knows about it, how many sys/net admins read MSDN?
As soon as I saw CryptoAPI in header that was my first thought - I've been seen it whitelisted in a proxy before, to whitelist CRL checks.

I wouldn't be surprised however if there are perimeter security products out there that have a default whitelist for it.
