I've said before, don't pay ransom in ransomware incidents - even if it hurts your org. It's funding criminals and you often don't get files

It's not really "often" that you don't get files. They almost always give them back as they kind of have to to keep rnsmwre effective
I've seen loads of examples where they don't provide keys, or increase price after payment. @fwosar @malwrhunterteam etc can back up.

Those are typically spear atks and just hiding behind being Ransomware. For the most part, you get files back. Kind of an underground rule

If most never gave files back, then Ransomware would stop being an issue because it wouldn't be worth it because people would stop paying.

Yes, there were multiple cases for both (no key given at all or price increase). But if you count everything, I'm sure ~90% or more got key.

Don’t forget the case when the victim org doesn’t care about getting its files back because backups are doing their job, but is still willing to pay something...
