Meh it's a double edged blade..you can say, don't pay, but if it's 100k worth of data, paying 300 for even 1% chance of recovery is worth it

Also don't pay ransomware recovery companies which claim to decrypt Cerber or similar. 95% they pay the criminal and charge a markup.

It's not really "often" that you don't get files. They almost always give them back as they kind of have to to keep rnsmwre effective

I've seen loads of examples where they don't provide keys, or increase price after payment.
