That's bizarre. It's not *that* difficult to host mail servers elsewhere as a temporary measure, or using third-party hosted service.

Also, moving to gmail probably isn't an option considering their records management requirements. They need O365.
In fairness G Suite has Google Vault. But if you don't have email or IT, I imagine it's difficult to arrange on board 100k employees

Interesting. I'd be surprised if they've truly lost email. I guess they might have shut it down, thinking this is an email spread issue.
