Secure Boot ignores MBR. Credential Guard stops credential theft for lateral movement. EternalBlue and EternalRomance don't work against it.

Few actually deploy the built in protections. Also Windows Firewall stops inbound SMB by default but everybody disables it.

I believe from Windows 8 this was an option on most new computers. That being said, Petya still encrypts files in usermode even with it.

Unless you plan to dual boot, it's something that most users/companies could benefit from though.

in fairness, I'd say 99% of organisation users wouldn't be running VMware within their endpoint.
