If you focus on metrics as a measurement for goals, rather than a goal on their own, you'll get a much better understanding of your audience

Thinking a lot about something said to me yesterday: "Content" implies "containers." Yet we can no longer design information for containers (i.e. device-specific). We need to start with *meaning* and *intent*. That's content strategy.

Once more for the folks in the back: If you don't take the time to figure out what's wrong and why, how do you know if you're making it better?

Happy National , everyone! On this 10th anniversary of the founding, I’d love to remind people that language belongs to all of us. It’s powerful. Variation is often where new ideas are born. Let’s celebrate people using language thoughtfully and inventively!

If you argue that language is weaker and the outlook for English is bleaker, consider the source of your silent discourse. Are you judging the speech, or the speaker?

Yes!! As I like to put it, content is the way every organization’s work - products, services, resources, information, and tools - manifests itself in the world

1/2 On pedants and peevers of grammar It’s time that we lower the hammer: “Mistakes” they revile Oft are matters of style And their “rules” oft prescriptionist yammer.
