@GooglePlayMusic purchased song, but not able to play the album. What could be the reason ?

That's definitely odd behavior! Have you tried clearing the app's cache? Here's how: Play Music app > Menu > Settings > Clear cache > Restart Device. Let us know if that does the trick.
