Google play music casting has never worked for me, Google 
Mind if we jump in? Which apps/devices are you having issues with while casting Google Play Music? Also, what troubleshooting steps you have tried so far? You may have issues playing music if your connection speed changes. Keep us posted and we'll look into this!

I am using 2 devices both android and in both phones the cast icon is greyed out on Google play music app, all other apps work fine (youtube included) when I want to castpic.twitter.com/4B44S9eqCL
