What is going on with google play music and YouTube music? Because I don't want to use YouTube music. I've been a google play subscriber for years and am familiar with that app.
As a heads up, the plan is for YouTube Music to eventually replace Google Play Music – but not before we support key features like uploading your personal collection, playing local MP3s on Android, and importing your library content/preferences. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you for the update and that is good to know regarding the changes. I've cultivated a large collection on google play and a bunch of playlists. Will this change impact podcasts at all? Will it just be music or will this eventually impact google movies? I am a curious sort.

Good question – the move won't affect Google Podcasts and Google Play Movies in any way. Don't you worry, because we'll provide plenty of notices before anything changes with Google Play Music. Appreciate your support and we hope this helps clarify things!
