@GooglePlayMusic if I switch my Google Play Music individual plan to a YouTube Music Premium Family plan, would I lose all my Google Play Music playlists and library? Thanks in advance.
Good question – subscription to YouTube Music Premium also gives you access to Google Play Music. Nothing will change with any music you've uploaded/purchased on Play Music. We’ll eventually give you a way to migrate your entire library to YT Music, so stay tuned for updates!

So the main reason I ask is because I read that YouTube Music Premium Family includes Google Play Music, I just don't want to have to redo all Google Play Music playlists since apparently if I do it the other way around and switch to Google Play Music Family I lose YT premium.

That's correct – to keep your YouTube Premium benefits on a family plan, you have to cancel your Google Play Music individual subscription & sign up for a YouTube Premium family plan instead of upgrading to a Google Play Music family plan. More info here: https://yt.be/help/eXfZ
