Why are @GooglePlayMusic playlists not playing properly? It will play one song and then literally anything else

It's been happening on my phone for about a week, which is where I use playlists. I've cleared the cache there & it's still the same. It plays 1 from the playlist I tell it to shuffle & then just starts playing any song. I've just tested on desktop, seems to be fine there.
Could you check if there are any pending updates available for the Google Play Music app? Also, could try uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Note: uninstalling the app will erase all downloaded data. Let us know if this helps.

No updates available. The app will only let me uninstall updates (I'm on a Pixel 2) not the app itself. I see there are other people with this problem in the reviews in the Play store too, maybe a bug in the most recent update?
