@GooglePlayMusic When I try to access my music account on my phone it tells me I have too many devices connected and to deactivate one, despite the fact that my phone is the only device I have connected to my play account. Any advice please?
Thanks for reaching out to us. You can deauthorize up to 4 devices per year using your computer or mobile device. Here's how to view the linked devices to the account: Google Play Music > Menu > Settings > Manage your devices.

But I don't want to deauthorize this device. It is, and always has been, the only device I use my play music account on. I would like to continue to use it.

Also, even when I do go into the 'manage my devices' option, it doesn't actually list any devices
