Also note, He did not say those were the only 2 commandments, just the 2 greatest which summarized the rest. Both those commands are found in the Mosaic Law and not the 10 commandments.

We are under the new covenant. It’s a whole new system. For instance when did Moses ever prescribe a high priest from Judah?? That’s not what was prescribed in Leviticus. Plus Jesus reinstated the standard of marriage as set forth in genesis and changed the law on divorce.

The reality has come and been fulfilled in Christ. Passover, sabbath and all the other holy days were suppose to lead us to Christ. It’s all fulfilled in him he is our Passover and our new moon and we are cleansed in him so why is it that we are still zealous over the shadow???

Sabbath was instituted before Moses. Jesus didn't change marriage law, or any law for that matter. God never allowed divorce; Torah only states what to do when people do.

That’s not true. The sabbath was instituted on Sinai. Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham and everyone else before Moses did not observe a sabbath. There was not even a thought of that. The only record of worship in the scriptures was that people offered sacrifices you are mistaken.

God clearly said to Moses that this law was not given to your forefathers.

It's true that there is no record of following the Sabbath before Moses. But absense of evidence is not evidence of absence. God did not intitute the Sabbath in the Mosaic covenant. He said to *remember* it. It's clear He established the Sabbath on the 7th day of creation.

That’s adding to the text and a big stretch. Even scholars don’t presume to say that. There’s no basis to say that Abraham was observing a sabbath I think that’s an important bit of information that wouldn’t be missing from the scripture.

Abraham followed God's laws, obviously pre-Mosaic covenant (Gen 26:5). What laws could these be? It's not a stretch to say they included observing the Sabbath – the same Sabbath that was "made for man" (Mark 2:27)

Yes he gave Abraham circumcision. Exodus 31:13 the sabbath was introduced to Moses at Sinai. Deuteronomy 5:2,3. Nehemiah 9:13,14
